A member of [[Space Marine Captain|Captain]] [[Khârn]]'s [[Space Marine Command Squad|command squad]], he earned his nickname "Bloodspitter" for his habit of spitting blood into the eyes of his enemies in arena combat aboard the [[Conqueror (Ship)|Conqueror]].{{Fn|1e}} During these bouts Kargos was often paired with the ferocious [[Blood Angels]] Captain [[Nassir Amit]].{{Fn|1d}} The two gained a strong bond, particularly after [[Sanguinius]] and [[Angron]] themselves witnessed a much-publicized fight to the death with two World Eaters champions.{{Fn|3b}} Uncharacteristically for the World Eaters [[Legion]], Kargos possessed a great sense of humor and wit and often used it to calm his comrades during their rages.{{Fn|1c}}
Despite his mortal wounds, he somehow recovered and even managed to escape [[Terra]] after [[Horus]]'s death. He joined the bulk of the now-leaderless World Eaters fleet during the [[Great Scouring]], and killed the captain of one company to take charge of his warriors.
