The volcanic world of Mezoa was founded during the early phases of the [[Great Crusade]], and its construction was overseen by the [[Adeptus Mechanicus|Mechanicum]], the [[Emperor of Mankind]] and [[Ferrus Manus]].{{Fn|5}}
The [[Lucius (Forge World)|Lucien Forge]] was ordered to to aid in forge world's foundation with supplies and manpower. In their reluctance to do so, they used the opportunity instead to exile various apostate Tech-Priests from their ranks.{{Fn|7}}
During the [[Horus Heresy]], Mezoa was [[Mezoan Campaign|attacked]] by the forces of [[Chaos]]{{Fn|3}} and became encircled by the [[Dark Empire]]. Despite its status as a forge world, Mezoa has never been home to any [[Collegia Titanica|Titan Legion]], as the solidified lava that forms much of its surface would not support the colossal weight of those war machines.{{Fn|5}}
