From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
As with many nominally Codex compliant chapters, the Blood Ravens still possess doctrinal preferences and unique personalities from their history that set them apart from other chapters.2223 In general, the Chapter emphasises infantry tactics over winning via vehicular warfare (either through a desire to win through the superior qualities of their fighting infantry, or through lack of means to easily manufacture heavy equipment).22
The Chapter places particular emphasis on its Marines supporting each other even in close combat, ensuring that if one member of a squad is attacked the others are positioned to rush in and support them, as well as practicing how to fire boltguns single-handed, the better to use in a close-quarters fight alongside a melee weapon.2223 In addition, the Blood Ravens emphasize stealth training, particularly among their Tactical and Devastator marines, familiarising them with infiltrating behind enemy lines. They also have a greater reliance on the fighting capabilities of their infantry, rather than any vehicular or armored superiority.22
