During the days of the [[Great Crusade]], much of what would one day become the Gothic-Sector was then at that time part of the [[Coronid Deeps]], where it saw major fighting during the [[Manachean War]].{{fn|10}}
At some point in the aftermath of the [[Horus Heresy]], by at least the time of the [[12th Black Crusade]], the region of space that was the Coronids Deeps was reorganized into the Gothic Sector.{{fn|10}}
