Since their betrayal at Prospero, the Thousand Sons have been radically transformed and wage war in an entirely different manner. Where the Legion now walks, terrible [[Warp]]-based calamities and abnormalities follow. While still utilizing [[Rubric Marine]]s and their support vehicles, the Thousand Sons now go to war alongside large numbers of [[Daemon Engine]]s, [[Daemon]]s, [[Chaos Spawn]]s, and mortal followers in the form of [[Cultist]]s, [[Mutant]]s, and [[Tzaangor]] [[Beastmen]]. While individually they wage battles that seem random or simply to reap carnage upon their foes, in truth each is part of an intricate ploy that is in turn apart of a millennia-spanning stratagem. Each world they burn is but a single component in yet another unfathomable ritual.{{Fn|95a}}
