Located in the galactic northwest of Segmentum Solar,2a the Domain occupies a significant tract of space.1 The capital world of the Moebian Domain is Atoma Prime. Although the Domain is sparsely populated, it offers important tithes of fuel, arms, and soldiers to the wider Imperium.5 Over this significant tract of space,1 sparse clusters of planetary systems make up the Moebian Domain.
Long ago, Forge World Obscurus once supplied much of the Moebian Domain.4e3s A significant amount of old Cadian battlegear is found across the Moedian Domain, but the reasons why isn't specified by history.4d3r
The stable warp routes and astropathic communications from the Moebian Domain to the rest of the Imperium have been significantly disrupted by Warp storms recently. This has essentially left the Moebian Domain isolated and cut off from the wider Imperium.7a4a
The area now known as the Moebian Domain was first colonised during the early Dark Age of Technology. Remnants of archeotech originating from this lost age have been found across the domain. Many of these relics have been thoroughly exorcised by the adepts of the Cult Mechanicus, but more artifacts doubtless remain.5 Wreckage of Adeptus Mechanicus Exploratory fleets have also been found in the Moebian Fringe.4f3t
Fringe War
Many Moebian Regiments are raised from Atoma's population, as well as other Moebian worlds. These guardsmen, sometimes referred to colloquially as lasmen, are often sent to fight in Fringe Campaigns all across the Moebian Domain's border territories. These regularly contested areas are sometimes referred to as the Moebian Fringe Region or simply the Fringe. The Moebian population is largely kept ignorant of the true nature of the foes that threaten them. The Darktide is the general label given to these unspeakable threats constantly pressuring their borders. The same is said for the freshly raised Moebian regiments, until they begin serving their long meat-grinder tours in the Fringe War and finally see the true face of the Moebian Domain's nightmarish foes.1
On the Moebian Fringe there are war-torn Death worlds7a4a and Feral Worlds where the Fringe War, a war of pacification to hold back the Darktide, has been rumbling on for years.1 The galactic north of the Domain is dotted with feral worlds and are the site of constant Fringe War battles to hold back the Darktide.3i
While most guardsmen serve faithfully, despite the physical and psychological trauma they face, some Moebian Lasmen are left broken by their long tours. The highly decorated and beloved Moebian 6th Regiment famed for their continual deployment to the most dangerous front-lines on the Moebian Fringe, became seduced or infected by some dark truth encountered while combating the Darktide. They have now brought the Darktide to the heart of the domain, Atoma Prime, the once home of many soldiers in the 6th. Their invasion of Tertium isn't simply for vengeance against what they endured in the Fringe War, but also to spread their liberating dark truth. In doing so, the Regiment hopes to free Atoma Prime from the chains and stagnant rubrics of Imperial rule.1
War for Atoma
Hive Tertium
In present day Era Indomitus, the forces of Chaos have infiltrated Atoma Prime. A Chaos Cult known as Admonition had long been festering within Hive Tertium and now seeks to take control of the planet.6 The Moebian 6th was on Atoma resupplying for another deployment to the front lines of the Fringe War during a blight outbreak and civilian uprising, unbeknownst to authorities both were the doing of the cultists. Authorities ordered the 6th to assist in quelling the uprising and quarantining the plague. However, once the Moebian 6th were in position, they revealed themselves as traitors and allied with the cultists.742
Inquisitor Grendyl sent his warband aboard the Rogue Trader vessel, the Mourningstar to combat this threat. The Mourningstar would remain in orbit of Atoma Prime whilst the uprising occurred,74 while the Inquisitor and other agents pursued heresy within Hive Tertium.7b4b
History
Under Barquette rule, reconquest of lost Imperial worlds in the Moebian Domain would begin. On Atoma Prime mining and resource extraction would be increased significantly. This would send the already wavering biosphere of Atoma into complete collapse. As vassal worlds and industry returned to the Domain much wealth would be consolidated on Atoma Prime.2
There would then be a transfer of power from the Barquettes to that of House Margrave in M36, some refer to this dispute as a civil war. The bitter rivalry between the two houses would carry on to the present day.4a3o4b3p2
M36 – M41: Margrave Rule
Margrave rulership of the Moebian Domain would be stable and steadily prosperous. Imperial records don't mention any significant Fringe Wars comparable to those of M35 or M36. Planets of the Moebian Domain would continue to be reclaimed and new ones would be charted.2
An event known as the great Sector Collapse occurred three decades prior to the present day in the Era Indomitus. Many minor-noble houses were decimated. The few surviving heirs to this event had no property or holding left. The orphaned child-heirs had their records redacted and were sent to the Scholams, giving rise to the slanderous rumour that this disaster wasn't as much of an accident as it initially appeared.4m3n
Known Worlds
*Mornax – "A small, grim, mining world known for its hellish conditions, which produce a famously hardy and dour populace."3d Vassalised in M36, Granted status as part of the Moebian Domain in M38.2

Incron is the Moebian Domain's main naval depot."3f Reclaimed in M39 and made part of the domain. The battlefleet navy was moved here from Atoma Prime for unspecified reasons in M39.2 Many floating Hive cities dot the planets vast oceans.4b3p The Moebian 21st were stationed here for an unknown but extensive amount of time.4c3q
