The PAGENAME is a location on Terra. 1 ==Overview==Serving as the headquarters of the Officio Assassinorum, the Assassinorum Temple is home to both the Grand Master of Assassins and a secret vault of forbidden and xenos weaponry. While the Temple serves as the base of the Officio as a whole, at least some of the Clades maintain their own separate headquarters.3 During The Beheading and the Wars of Vindication, the Temple became a battleground.12
The Assassinorum Temple is plain and unassuming, resembling any of the many Ecclesiarchy shrines on Terra. Its protected by swarms of artificial psyber-ravens which monitor any incoming aircraft. The building has a dark reputation and aircraft intentionally avoid it.4 The precise nature of the Assassinorum Temple itself remains a mystery, even to high-level Imperial officials. Some believe that the Temple is a mere front and the real nerve centre of the Officio remains elsewhere.4

History
The Temple was originally known as the Fortress of the Sigillite, and was used by Malcador the Sigillite, the first Grand Master of Assassins, as his base of operations for the Chosen of Malcador and repository for the most precious items of the Sigillite Order.5a After the death of Malcador in the Siege of Terra, the Fortress was badly damaged but quickly restored to operation under Khalid Hassan. With the clandestine approval of Rogal Dorn, Kyril Sindermann was able to help organize a new forbidden archive of texts related to the Warp within the Fortress in order to combat another Heresy in the future.5b

When Khalid Hassan was made the new Grand Master of Assassins, he worked with Sire Vanus to turn the Fortress into a new powerbase for the Officio Assassinorum.5c

Later during both The Beheading and the Wars of Vindication, the Temple became a battleground.12
