The '''Piraeus System''' is located in the southeast of the [[Badab Sector]]. It is the terminus of some of the most important warp routes from the southern [[Maelstrom Zone]] into the sector. For this reason, it was of utmost importance for the conquest of the Badab Sector during the [[Badab War]]. In 705 911.M41, the loyalists, led by the [[Red Scorpions]] and [[Executioners]], launched a large-scale invasion, during which a duel took place between the two commanders-in-chief, [[Carab Culln]] and [[Lufgt Huron]].{{Fn|1}}
In the year 963.[[M41]] the Fire Hawks were sent to the [[Crows World]] [[subsector]] against [[Eldar]] pirates. The entire chapter-fleet, including the chapter's mobile space-fortress [[Raptorus Rex]]{{Fn|1a}}, made a successful warp jump from the [[Piraeus System]] 120 light years to Crows World. The five ships, over eight hundred brethren, and two thousand other personnel expected to reach Crows World within no more than 12 hours. They never arrived.{{Fn|2}}
