Industrial algae farms can be found on a variety of different [[Class (planet)|world classifications]], mostly notably on [[Agri Worlds]] or worlds with [[hive cities]]. [[Juve]]s who grow up in algae farms spend most of their formative years cleaning out foul smelling algae vats and pipes, rarely seeing the world outside of their vast synthi-complexes.{{Fn|1}}
Algae slop rations are primarily eaten by lower classes, such as hive labourers and menials. It is generally unpalatable, but the right recipes or flavouring can make it almost enticing.{{Fn|2}}
