Unlike her predecessors she continues to lead her Sisters from the frontlines. The Ecclesiarch had initially hoped Vahl would be an easy pawn, to no avail.{{Fn|1}}{{Fn|2}}{{Fn|3}}
One of her first missions after her appointment to Abbess was to relieve [[Ophelia VII]] [[Ophelian Crusade|as it was under attack from the Night Lords]] warlord [[Kol Rakhul]]. Vahl immediately became frustrated by both the Ecclesiarchy and other High Lords, who sent little aid.{{Fn|6a}} Departing aboard the [[Battlecruiser]] ''[[Lux Dominus]]'', her small flotilla was immediately set upon by Night Lords when it entered the Ophelia System. During the fighting, the Captain of the ''Lux Dominus'' overloaded his own vessels reactor to prevent its capture, forcing Vahl and her troops to crash-land on Ophelia VII.{{Fn|6b}} Battling through swathes of [[Cultist]]s and [[Chaos Space Marine]]s, Vahl was able to link up with [[Black Templars]] forces under [[Marshal (Black Templars)|Marshal]] [[Montford]] and [[Castellan (Black Templars)|Castellan]] [[Aymar Tancret]]. While initially planning for a direct assault on Kol Rakhul's stronghold, Vahl frustrates frustrated the Templars by diverting her own forces to instead launch a subterranean assault in order to rescue a group of remaining [[Battle Sister]]s, pilgrims, and the relic of [[Saint Athenasia]] near a cathedral.{{Fn|6c}}
Leading her [[Celestian]]s, the Sisters navigated the desecrated catacombs beneath Ophelia VII before emerging at the cathedral to defeat a [[Heldrake]]. Vahl is was shaken when Cultists kill killed Sister [[Aleyna]], who had earlier exhibited miraculous abilities.{{Fn|6d}} Vahl is , but was nonetheless able to organize the defenses of [[Convent Sanctorum]] for a final stand against the Chaos hordes. In the ensuing battle, she personally faces faced down Kol Rakhul. While Though badly wounded in the ensuing battle, she is was able to impale the vengeful Chaos Lord with her lance.{{Fn|6e}} In the aftermath, she oversaw the rituals for the fallen before returning to Terra to confront the High Lords with the severed head of Kol Rakhul in hand. The campaign proved decisive in earning the respect of the [[Senatorum Imperialis]].{{Fn|6f}}
She later took part in the [[Indomitus Crusade Fleet Secundus]]' [[Battle Group Erastus (Fleet Secundus)|Battle Group Erastus]] where joined with [[Marshal (Black Templars)|Marshal]] [[Gideon (Black Templars)|Gideon]], [[Emperor's Champion]], and [[Baron]] [[Munstis]] and his [[Imperial Knights]] of [[House Fidelitor]] she defeated the [[Witch-Empress]] and her daemonic patrons on [[Vastoros]].{{Fn|5}}
