Query: I'm curious where the contributors to this page arrived at the armor specs. I ask because according to your figures, 40,000 years into the future, a main battle tank has roughly 35 to 60% less Kinetic Penetrator protection than a modern, Chobham-armored U.S. or British MBT. Land Raider composite armor must defend against 40k artillery that is at least, an order of magnitude more powerful than any that presently exist, not to mention directed energy-based weaponry . Do you think a Land Raider can be taken out by an RPG? According to the listed specs, it can. Obviously, this also applies to the other battle tanks, as well as the Thunderhawk Gunship.
