It was long believed that [[House Aranthus|Aranthus]] was a [[Fallen House]], but Ozostium and his siblings were alive and imprisoned by the ruling [[House Helmawr]], who were among the House's enemies.{{Fn|1a}}

Ozostium had been placed in a casket that resided within the vaults of the [[Cathedral of the Emperor Deified]] in [[Hive Temenos]].{{Fn|1a}} He was able to use his [[Psychic]] powers to influence the minds of others and began plotting to free himself.{{Fn|1b}} When he would be free, Ozostium would then free his siblings and lead a reborn House Aranthus to destroy Helmawr's bloodline and claim [[Necromunda (planet)|Necromunda]] for himself.{{Fn|1a}}

Centuries later, Ozostium gathered servants such as [[Lady Credo]] and the [[Prophet of Redemption]] to his cause, along with other powerful allies and armies hidden from Helmawr's gaze. After the [[Great Rift]] opened, [[Noctis Aeterna|darkness enveloped]] Necromunda and Ozostium knew that it was time to set his plans into motion and called upon his servants to carry them out.{{Fn|1b}}
