Enuncia is an obscure, arcane discipline dedicated to manipulating reality and the warp via vocalizations. It is essentially like a system of "magic words," except that the utterances involved are not words, nor are they sounds that would ordinarily ever come from a human mouth. They are referred to in Dan Abnett's "Ravenor" series as "unwords."

Speaking these unwords can enable the Enuncia user to control demons directly, without the usual bargaining, or can cause severe damage to an enemy. It is not without its costs, however, as it takes a huge toll on the user, tearing their mouth and throat apart with every syllable.

History and emergence
Enuncia is very obscure, with only a few fragmentary references appearing anywhere in Imperial records. Few of these references include any information on the use of Enuncia.

In the 400s, M41, on Eustis Majoris, a project to discover the workings of Enuncia was undertaken by an agency of the Lord Governor Subsector. Using the data processing equipment of the Administratum, and warp-tainted data engines recovered from a dead world that had been embroiled in a warp storm for centuries, the project, controlled by a group called the Secretists, sought to (without the knowledge of the personnel involved in processing the data) extract pieces of Enuncia from seemingly random data.
