During the [[Ultramarian Reclamation]], Novamagnor already had a strong Imperial presence under [[Governor]] [[Adrica Gallow]]. Upon the arrival of the Vespator Front, the world quickly negotiated its assimilation into Greater [[Ultramar]]. However shortly after, it was invaded by emerging Necron forces led by [[Nekrosor Ammentar]], who was seeking a shard of the [[Nightbringer]].{{Fn|2b}}
During the subsequent war for Novamagnor, most of the planet fell to the [[Destroyer Cult]] and [[Flayed One]] Necrons, in part thanks to the treachery of the [[Xenophile|xenophilic ]] [[Archmagos]] [[Wytbor Oct]]. Ammentar was successful in overrunning Firstbrand as well as acquiring the C'tan shard, though thanks to [[UltramarinesSpace Marine Captain|Captain]] [[CaptainDemetrian Titus]] of the [[Demetrian TitusUltramarines]] the Imperials continue to hold parts of the world.{{Fn|2c}}
