A Horus Heresy veteran, Venakhar creates all of the combat stimms that the Perfecti use. However the Chaos Apothecary uses still living flesh to create his concoctions, so Venakhar cripples his foes in battle so that he can later harvest their bodies. In M42, Venakhar and the Perfecti had nearly defeated a World Eaters Warband, when the Emperor's Children's forces were summoned to the side of their Daemon Primarch Fulgrim. This message was delivered to the Warband by the Sorcerer Lord Mauvais, who suddenly appeared and killed the World Eaters Warlord in order to save Tamaris's life. Mauvais left shortly after delivering his message to attend Fulgrim's summons, leaving a humiliated Tamaris in his wake. However, Venakhar reminded the Knight-Commander of the opportunity the summons represented and that only the weak dwelled on the past. Tamaris agreed with this and vowed to look towards the perfection the future held for him.1a
Venakhar subsequently took part in the invasion of the Imperial world of Crucible along with the rest of his warband.1b After Fulgrim declares whoever retrieves the head of the Black Templars Emperor's Children on the world, Venakhar hopes to secure his Primarch's favor favour by killing Johannes Berengar instead of Tamaris. To that end, he attempts to arrange for Tamaris' death.1c However in the end, the traitorous Apothecary is killed by Tamaris.1d
