Upon impact, Splinter weapons cause agonizing pain in the target, which makes them a favorite favourite amongst Dark Eldar infantry. It is not uncommon for Dark Eldar to become addicted to the distorted grimaces of pain made by the targets of splinter weaponry.{{Fn|2}}
