The '''Dark Mechanicum''', or '''Dark Mechanicus'''{{Fn|7}}, referred to by themselves as the '''New Mechanicum'''{{Fn|6b}} or '''True Mechanicum''',{{Fn|20a}} is a [[Chaos]]-affiliated counterpart to the [[Adeptus Mechanicus]]. Its origins trace back to those who pledged loyalty to [[Warmaster]] [[Horus]] at the end of the [[Great Crusade]]. The Dark Mechanicum serves as a dark "mirror" to their counterparts within the [[Imperium]].
The [[tech-adept]]s of the Dark Mechanicum readily adopting adopted black robes and wear a perversion of the [[Machina Opus]]. The : the symbol of the [[Machine God]] but 8 with eight arrows added to make the star of Chaos and a skull with a daemonic grimace.
