History
Belial IV was once one of the worlds at the heart of the Eldar Empire.6a

During the First Survey, Belial was marked on the star charts of the Imperium as Forbidden under the interdict of the Ecclesiarchy. It was rumoured in the Imperium to be haunted, covered in the ruins of a lost race, and steeped in ancient evil.2b
In 334.M36, it was raided for Spirit Stones by the Twelve Outcasts of Alaitoc.3
In 993.M37, it was the site of a clash between the Dark Eldar of the Haemonculi Coven of the Thirteen Scars and Fabius Bile's Emperor's Children, who had a bastion on the world.4
During the Abyssal Crusade, the Brothers of the Anvil were captured by Dark Eldar raiders on the surface of Belial IV.1 Later in Abaddon the Despoiler's Thirteenth Black Crusade, the Word Bearers constructed the Black Cathedral there and began to worship the Chaos Gods. Their dedicated worship was able to stem the Warp Storms surrounding Cadia, which stabilized the existence of Daemons that were summoned on nearby worlds.5CMS However, the Eldar later managed to scour the surface of Belial IV. While the Eldar are believed to have left, its part in the return of the Craftworld Altansar should be noted.CME
