Biography
Early History
Asmodai was a well-regarded but unremarkable Tactical Marine serving in the Dark Angels' 8th Company in 405.M41 during the Macharian Heresy. During the battle of Hive-Moon Sigma, Asmodai fought under Captain Elijah against the rebellious forces of the Dark Angel Malvine Rhemell. During the fight the Dark Angels took heavy losses and Rhemell escaped, and Asmodai vowed to find him and make him repent. Afterwards he was quickly elevated to the position of Interrogator-Chaplain and captured his first Fallen Angel, Cephesus, in 411.M41, though he failed to make him repent. Over the next 25 years he captured three more, but they, too, refused to repent. Asmodai, however, had his first success after forcing the Fallen Angel Sorl Mebbon to repent after 18 days of torture. Asmodai quickly gained a reputation for ruthless and uncompromising dedication.4

It was Asmodai who ordered the slaughter of all the new recruits from Narcium because of their lacklustre answers to his questions. Upon hearing laughter in the halls of The Rock, Asmodai placed the penance of silence upon the entire 7th Company. However, despite his brutal and disciplinary streaks, he is nonetheless an effective combatant and inspiring leader. He famously led the Dark Angels against the traitors of Rhun's Palace and inspired an impressive stand when his forces were surrounded by Daemons on the world of Amity.3
Calva Senoris
Asmodai fought as part of a campaign in the Narthex Nebula, alongside the Silver Eagles chapter, to free several imperial worlds from Ork Enslavement. On the world of Calva Senoris he heard rumors of an amazing warrior leading the resistance against the Orks. Thinking that this was a member of the fallen, he took command of the Dark Angels force, usurping Master Charon. When he arrived at the resistance camp he killed everyone until he found the remarkable warrior,4 who ended up being the Inquisitor Banist De Morney, who initially came to the world to warn of the Ork attack.9
While Asmodai was doing this, the Silver Eagles had become surrounded. Master Charon reasserted his command and led a counter attack. In the aftermath the inquisitor went to the Silver Eagles homeworld and demanded action. Their chapter master sent emissaries to Azrael who then left the Tower of Angels to deal with this. During this time Asmodai was confined to his chambers and the chapel, when Azrael returned, Asmodai told him his only regret was not killing the inquisitor when he had the chance.4
