Each individual suit of power armour has a unique history of battles it was worn in and are often comprised of the remnants taken from other suits having their own respective history. Due to this, the [[machine spirit]]s of power armour tend to develop their own personalities over time.{{Fn|60a}}
Power armour has been in use since before the [[Age of the Imperium]], from the techno-barbarians of [[Earth]] to the original Space Marines created by the [[Emperor]]. Over the history of the [[Imperium]], power armour has developed into many different forms.
