Disaster struck when the [[Great Rift]] was created and [[The Blackness]] caused the garrison to lose contact with the wider [[Imperium]].{{Fn|1a}} This allowed the [[Lords of Silence]] and the [[Weeping Veil]] [[Chaos Warband]]s to successfully invade Sabatine and they easily destroyed the White Consul garrison.{{Fn|1b}}
