After listening Messinius informed him that he couldn't divert entire battle groups for him while success was so uncertain, however he was able to give him a modest force. He also made it clear that he did not appreciate [[Rostov]] bringing along the [[Oblivion Knight]] [[Syreniel]] as a subtle manipulation to remind him of the [[Emperor]]'s will. Regardless, Messinius promised [[Rostov]] that if he could find this fortress, and if his fears were founded, Messinius would send him a greater force to deal with the threat.{{fn|5b}}
