Overview
These Dreadnoughts are derived in particular from the Mk.IV and Mk.V models of the Castaferrum Castraferrum Pattern Dreadnought. Most of these machines first entered service during the Great Crusade and subsequent Horus Heresy, and in the ten thousand years since they have continued to serve in the armies of the Chaos Space Marines. The warriors interred within vary greatly in demeanour, from cold-hearted and relentless to blood-maddened and crazed. Some are capable of giving counsel, while others have been driven completely insane and need to be restrained in-between battle. Many of the Dreadnoughts also sport mutations due to excessive exposure to the Warp, with many viewing this twisted undeath as a curse rather than a blessing.1a
Deployed at the forefront of battle, these giant armoured walkers are terrifying warmachines that are equipped with a wide arsenal of weapons. These include Multi-Meltas, a Twin-Linked Autocannon, a twin-linked Lascannon, twin-linked Heavy Bolters, a Plasma Cannon, a Dreadnought Missile Launcher, Heavy Flamer, Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with built-in twin-linked Bolter, Power Scourge, Chaos Chainfist, and Thunderhammer. They also can take a Mark of Chaos from a patron Chaos God.1a
