Following the failure of the Rubric, Ahriman scoured the galaxy for a way to reverse the damage he had done to his Legion. The culmination of his efforts was a Second Rubric, in which he intended to sacrifice his own life to renew his Brothers. However, the ritual was derailed by the interference of the sorcerer [[Astraeos]] and several of the [[Magnus#Shards of Magnus|Shards of Magnus]], which were scheming at cross purposes. In the confusion, the sorcerer '''Knekku''' seized control of the incredible energies Ahriman had unleashed and used them to restore the shattered mind of his beloved [[Primarch]], [[Magnus]].{{Fn|4a}}
After the apparent failure of the Second Rubric, it was discovered that a single Rubricae, [[Helio Isidorus]], had been restored to life.{{Fn|4b}} This had dire consequences , however, as Helio was soon was revealed to be a vessel for an even worse condition, the [[Pyrodomon]], which caused Sorcerers sorcerers to turn into Rubricae rubricae, while existing Rubricae rubricae combusted.{{Fn|5}} Ahriman is was eventually able to use the [[Necron]] device dubbed the [[Key of Infinity]] to travel back in time and prevent Helio's restoration. In the new timeline the Second Rubric and its subsequent failure still took place, but the Pyrodomon's creation was prevented.{{Fn|6}}
