Another variant of the Mk.X is the Mk.X Reiver or Phobos pattern. The suit’s lighter-weight ceramite and streamlined design allow for greater mobility, and its servo-motors are engineered to be completely silent. The design, however, allegedly sacrifices protection for stealth and speed, but the performance differences between phobos, tacticus, and carapace armour have not been explored in the literature beyond, of course, carapace armour's incompatibility with the [[black carapace]]. As their name suggests, they are used by [[Reiver SquadVanguard Space Marine]]s and squads, including [[Vanguard Space MarineReiver Squad|reiver squad]] Squadss.{{Fn|8}} Like carapace armour, it is compatible with [[grav-chute]]s; [[Kayvaan Shrike]] wears a phobos suit paired with a jump pack, but as no one else has ever been portrayed in such and he is both a captain and a former chapter master, it may be the case that phobos suits are generally incompatible with jump packs and Shrike is wearing particularly difficult to build armour.
