Gamma II, as well as the other worlds of the Trevenum system, was cut off from the rest of the Imperium after the creation of the Great Rift. Despite this, the moon has remained relatively safe. At some point, three [[Fallen]] [[Dark Angel]] [[Space Marines]] settled on the moon. Two of them, [[Space Marine Sergeant|Knight-Sergeant]] [[Launciel]] and [[Galad]], took the moon under their protection, helping the local populace defend it against any threats. The third Fallen, [[Librarian]] [[Bevedan]], became a hermit and lived alone in the '''Umbran Mountains'''.{{Fn|1a}}
