In battle a Warboss often directly leads his tribe as a noble, and is a force to be reckoned with himself. Warboss's commonly keep a group of Nob bodyguards, Gretchin ammo haulers, and a pet Attack Squig around, making them even more formidable in combat.5b A Warboss maintains his position by power purely because of his size and the ability to beat any challengers to a pulp. Yet the more brawls and victories a Warboss wins, the bigger and stronger he gets, which will in turn increase his number of followers and prestige.2b2c
While Warboss's may seem unintelligent, they all possess a bestial cunning that allows them to organize organise devastating Waaaghs!. That being said, many Warboss's often leave the more mundane tasks of war such as battlefield organization organisation or logistics to underlings and instead prefer to get up in the front of any good fight.2a Along with brutal violence and cunning, the ability to loudly shout is one of the most vital criteria to becoming a successful Warboss.5a
