The Acheron was designed by the [[Imperial Navy]] to test new [[lance]]s and [[weapons batteries]] based on technology from an ancient ship found in [[Sector 51]]. As such, records show that only one of its kind - a then-unnamed ship designated BF/67-A{{Fn|1}}, now known as the ''[[Chaos Eternus]]'' — was ever built. The Acheron carries a devastating long-range payload of three [[Lance]] turrets and a prow [[Weapons battery]].{{Fn|1}}
