The term Remembrancer also appears to refer to any historian in general, even those who predate the existence of the Remembrancer Order. Several historians of [[M2]] [[Terra]] have been described by the Imperium as remembrancers.{{Fn|27}}{{Fn|28}}
Functionally similar organization exists in the Imperium, the [[Historical Revision Unit]], and as of the Era Indomitus, the [[Logos Historica Verita]]. The members of these also perform the roles of historians, albeit towards different purposes.
