Some say that the Quaestor is — or was — the last priest of [[Davin]]'s [[Warrior Lodge]]s, however, whatever they are now is no longer a mere mortal and up for debate.{{Fn|1a}} The [[Epistles of Korazin]] say that he is an in-between thing that owes no true allegiance to any of the [[Dark Gods|great powers]] and travels from one god's court to another like an impoverished noble.{{Fn|1b}} Worshiped as the '''Bringer of Dark Truths''' on a million worlds, the Quaestor is akin to a minor diety, like the [[Pater Mutatis]], but more significant.{{Fn|1a}}
The Quaestor is in the possession of the [[Emperor's Children]] [[Phoenix Conclave]], who may have tortured and mutilated him severely. His skeletal form is withered and aged beyond recognition and has eerily elongated limbs and fingers. Whether the decrepit being has the form of a man or woman is nearly indiscernible, as those of immense age only can be. He is a highly psychic being, able to levitate with ease and seemingly possess possesses great wisdom.{{Fn|1a}}
While in the custody of the [[Phoenix Conclave]] , they are noted as having worn a cloak of chains and a great cage in the shape of a goat or bull rests on his too-wide shoulders. Soundless chains that seem to draw in light and noise splay out from him, like several serpents all suspending his floating form from thin air. The chains seemingly some form of restraint used by his current hosts, rather than an appearance of their own choosing.{{Fn|1a}}
Prior to the [[Battle of Belial IV]], [[Eidolon]] had [[Fabius Bile]] brought before the Phoenix Conclave to be judged by the Quaestor. The Quastor would conduct a trial through a psychic assault and questioning Bile of his fate. Ultimately, the Quaestor found no guilt in Bile's pursuit of perfection and conclude the trial.{{Fn|1a}}
