After the war, Prandium was again at peace until it was attacked and consumed by Hive Fleet Behemoth in 745.M41.3 Prandium is now devoid of all life. The Tyranids were so thorough that even Prandium's atmosphere was consumed for whatever biomass it contained.4 The Ultramarines, led by Marneus Calgar, mounted a defence of the planet, but even the might of the Space Marines was no match for the endless tide of Tyranids and they were forced to retreat to orbit. Over two hundred years later the Ultramarines still consider their failure at Prandium a great blemish on their honour.CME
Geography
Prior to the Tyranid invasion, which rendered Prandium a Dead World, the planet was an Garden World2/Agri-World5 covered in forests and mountains. Prandium contained many agricultural and botanical building complexes such as the Grand Winter Gardens and many Solar Arboreums.8
* Prandium is Latin for (late) breakfast, so the pun is that the planet was the Tyranids' breakfast.
* Prandium likely belongs to the Prandium System, given they share a name, however there is no evidence for this.
Conflicting Sources
Prandium II
In the first edition of Dark Imperium (Novel), references are made to a Prandium II and a Prandium 30th Ultramar Auxiliary Regiment.9 These would all be changed to Talassar and the Talassar 30th Ultramar Auxiliary Regiment10. Whether there is still a Prandium II or its history and provenance, is unclear.
