Along the banks of the [[Wikipedia:River Rhine|River Rhine]] , Lorelei is a 132-metre-high [[Wikipedia:Slate|slate]] rock on the bank of the [[Wikipedia:River Rhine|River Rhine]] in Germany, possibly bearing this namesake due to a small murmuring waterfall that once echoed and amplified off its rocks. In Germanic myth and folklore, Lorelei was a siren of great beauty who after being betrayed by her love, accused of bewitching and luring men to their deaths, cast herself from the top of the aforementioned rock.
