However this endedDuring an unknown year, when at the height of summer, the world was raided by the Drukari [[Kabal of the Dark Blade]] raided Skurminal, after – following whispered rumors from the '''Crucibles''' whispered it held a of great treasure. Sometime later, though, the Kabal's [[Archon]] ordered its forces to withdraw from the city. The [[Reaver Jetbike|Reaver]] commander, [[Maless Darkblade]] refused to do so, without the treasure and continued to search for it, with a group of her fellow Reavers. She was eventually drawn towards a building she felt reeked of power and one of her Reavers found an engraving within in it, next to two giant sealed doors.{{Fn|1}}

The engraving read[[Reaver Jetbike|Reaver]] commander [[Maless Darkblade]], eschewing orders of retreat, found the Vault of Wishes, '''upon which was inscribed "Step forward into the Vaults of Wishes and become as a God"''' . Wanting the power for himself, Maless betrayed his compatriots and slaughtered them before opening the door alone – inside discovering a [[Maless Darkblade|MalessDaemon]] to kill her which [[Reaver JetbikeDaemonic Possession|ReaverPossessed]]s, so that only she could do so. She then entered the Vaults now open doors, which were emitting a bright lighthis body, and was enveloped by pain. As she screamed, a [[Daemon]] began speaking into her head and told Maless that it had just possessed her. After being imprisoned for eons, Maless had freed it and the Daemon would now pour its power into her, so asserting dominance over the Reaver could act as its vessel of vengeance. However after the Daemon told her of the atrocities it would use her daemon agreed to commit, she simply said she was looking forward to it. With that, Maless and the surprised Daemon left the building and rejoined the [[Kabal cruelties undreamed of the Dark Blade]]'s forcestogether.{{Fn|1}}
