In the modern era, before its direct threat from the [[Tau]], Ctesiphus was subjected to [[Genestealer Cult]] uprisings so successful, that more than half of its key worlds fell in a matter of months. Those few that remained loyal to the [[Imperium]] now hold on by a thread and their enduring faith in the [[Emperor]] is all that gives them strength.{{Fn|1}} Currently, Imperial efforts in the System are focused on defending the [[capital world ]] of [[Phorentis]] from the Tau.{{Fn|2}}
