T'au Sept Septs are generally created during the T'au 's [[Spheres of Expansion]], and are their status is often considered in relation to other Sept Septs of their Sphere.{{Fn|10b}}

The [[Farsight Expedition]] (~750.[[M41]]-760.[[M41]]) was sent into the gulf fifty years later, resulting in the [[Farsight Enclaves]] – not themselves SeptSepts, but nevertheless Second Sphere worlds of the [[T'au'va]].{{Fn|25}}

The '''[[Third Sphere of Expansion]]''' was convened on 977.997.M41.{{Fn|1}}{{Fn|2}}{{Fn|3}} and [[O'Shaserra|Commander Shadowsun]] was placed in command, and secured three new Septs for the Tau Empire. The [[Imperial]] In the [[Zeist Campaign]] of 999.M41, [[Imperial]] forces counterattacked against the expanding Third Sphere, drawing the Third Sphere to a temporary halt.

The fleet meant for the [[Fourth Sphere of Expansion]] was thought lost for years before contact was reestablished with the survivors. No Septs are known to have been established during this sphere of expansion.{{Fn|7d}} Thought lost for decades, the ill-fated Fourth Sphere of Expansion reestablished contact with the Tau Empire beyond the wormhole known as the [[Startide Nexus]].{{CME}}

Colonization is the main way the [[T'au]] expand their [[T'au Empire|Empire]] outside of war against hostile worlds. Their decision to colonize a world or not, depends on if it can be an asset to the Empire and if the colony can cause the [[Systemsystem]] it is in to prosper. Often the worlds selected are full of hostile lifeforms or barely habitable for the T'au.{{Fn|23}} The colonists will have [[Fire Warriors]] to protect them though{{Fn|24}} and over years of hard work, their worlds will become valuable resources for the T'au Empire. These colonies will then eventually turn into cities, that will serve as waystations for the T'au's further expansion efforts.{{Fn|23}}

*[[Ho'sarn]] — was evacuated Evacuated in 902.M41 as Hive Fleet Gorgon approached. Notice that these star [[systemSystem|star systems]]s are not considered Septs. In addition, there are an unknown number of former [[Imperial]] worlds in the [[T'au Empire]], such as [[T'ros]]. Some or all of which might still have a [[Human]] population.
