However due to the misrule of its [[Novator]] in the early years of the [[Great Crusade]], its fortunes fell low. When the Novator's great nephew, [[Esuin Rigantis]], took command{{Fn|1b}} he pledged House Zuma's service to the [[Imperial Fists]]{{Fn|1a}} in a gamble to recoup its finances and restore its greatness{{Fn|1b}}. His pledge, however, required the Novator to leave Zuma's estates on [[Terra]] in order to personally lead the contingent of House Zuma's Navigators that would serve aboard the Imperial Fists' warships. 20 years later, the [[Imperial Fists]]' [[Primarch]], [[Dorn]], commanded that Zuma's Navigators serve aboard the [[Space Marine Legion|Legion]]'s fleet that was taking part in the [[Night Crusade]]. They were given command of the Imperial Fists' other Navigators as well and it was a decision that could potentially catapult House Zuma into high status and swell its coffers.
