With the Indomitus Crusade Fleet now dealt with, the Prophet began an invasion of an Imperium Nihilus Sector.1b1c The Sorcerer Lord sought to conduct a massive Chaos ritual there,1e which would pull the entire Sector into the Warp.1d However, the Commander's fleet survived their emergency exit and found themselves scattered across the very same Sector the Prophet was attacking.1b1c This led the Commander to lead his forces against the Sorcerer Lord's warband in order to save the Sector's worlds.1c The Prophet continued his quest to claim the Sector despite this, which culminated in him creating a Chaos ritual which drew in Warp energy into the Space Station Fort Obsidian.1e The Commander learned of the Sorcerer Lord's plans though and his forces succeeded in ending the ritual before it could be completed. They then defeated the Prophet in battle and would have killed the Sorcerer Lord, had Daivech Thrax not appeared and saved his master. The two then fled and escaped from the Imperials.1f
But, while the Prophet had been unable to claim the Sector, he was not yet done with it. Instead, the Sorcerer Lord now desired to destroy the Commander once and for all. To do so, the Prophet sought to unleash the Khorne Daemon Prince Halphas, who had been imprisoned on one of the Sector's Imperial worlds.1h This had been done by a seal placed by the Saint Coldura,1i which the Sorcerer Lord would have to break to free Halphas.1h The Prophet then started a rebellion on the world1g and began a Chaos ritual to destroy Coldura's seal. As he did so, the Prophet made contact with the Daemon Prince and the two came to an agreement. Their bargain was simple: if the Sorcerer Lord freed Halphas, then the Daemon Prince would kill the Commander and his forces, for the Prophet.1h The Commander meanwhile, had been in constant pursuit of the Sorcerer Lord,1g since his escape from Fort Obsidian,1f and once his fleet the Crusade Fleet arrived on the world, the Imperials put an end to the Prophet's rebellion. They then learned that the Sorcerer Lord was conducting a Chaos ritual there and raced to stop him.1g But the Sorcerer Lord broke the seal, shortly after the Imperials found him. With that, Halphas materialized into Realspace and this created a Warp Storm around the world.1h
Now freed, the Daemon Prince told the Sorcerer Lord that their bargain was complete and he ordered the Prophet to leave. As Halphas then prepared to claim the Imperials' skulls for Khorne, the retreating Sorcerer Lord mocked the Commander. Before he then entered the Warp, the Prophet told the Commander that he had ultimately won the battle between them and the Daemon Prince would be the death of the Imperials. However after a brief battle, the Commander ordered his forces to retreat from Halphas, when they were unable to destroy the Daemon Prince.1h But as they regrouped, the Imperials studied information they had claimed from the defeated rebellion's leadership. From it, the Commander learned that Halphas has had originally been sealed away by the Imperial Saint Coldura, whose tomb was located on the world.1i The Imperials then searched the Saint's tomb and found one of Coldura's relics,1j which they used to defeat the Daemon Prince. After Halphas was dealt with, the Commander confronted the Prophet and once again defeated the Sorcerer Lord.1k
