The Hippogriff has ample firepower, as its turret can be mounted with a [[Battle Cannon]], [[Castigator Gatling Cannon]], [[Melta Cannon]] or a [[Lascannon]] with a coaxial [[Heavy Stubber]] or [[Meltagun]]. The vehicle's six wheels are also mounted on independent servo-axles, which provides it a good balance of speed and stability. The Hippogriff will often be the heaviest fire support that an [[Astra Militarum]] [[Imperial Guard Scout|scouting]] [[platoon]] can expect to receive as well. However, stories abound of how Hippogriff squadrons were able to hold off much more advanced foes until [[Imperial]] armoured reinforcements arrived.{{Fn|1}}
