Later however a female Custodian, [[Calladayce Taurovalia Kesh]], was introduced in the [[Codex: Adeptus Custodes (10th Edition)|10th edition codex]].{{Fn|51a}} Another female Custodian, [[Bayezara Aggonades]], is mentioned in the same source.{{Fn|51d}} A third, [[Tyrith Shiva Kyrus]], appeared in [[The Tithes (Animated Series)|The Tithes]] episode 2 titled ''Harvest''.{{Fn|53}}
*On 16 January 2026 Warhammer Community published an [https://web.archive.org/web/20260118000210/https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/kcuvmezh/new-custodes-your-questions-answered/ article], stating: "[...] those pre-Unification patriarchal houses that passed their kingdoms down to first-born sons had those sons taken, and remade as guardians of the Emperor. That is still true. But that was not the only source of recruitment. Other methods might have been equally overt, others far more secretive. Noble daughters could also have been taken, and at some point, you run out of noble houses [...]" Whether this refers to the initial Custodes recruits, or something that occurred later, is not clear from the wording.{{fn|79}}
