First and foremost, it must be understood that the phenomenon of a [[Black Crusade]] does not '''solely''' refer only to the infamous Black Crusades of [[Abaddon the Despoiler]]. It is entirely feasible that Rogal Dorn died in a Black Crusade that was not one of the 12 of Abaddons, but an as yet undisclosed one lead by a different [[Chaos Champion]].{{fn|4}} It should also be understood that even among Games Workshop itself, or at least the [[Black Library]] authors, putting down an exact date for Rogal Dorn's death has been under discussion even as far as 2014{{fn|44}} and may still yet be in planning, given the emergence of [[The Horus Heresy: The Scouring]].
