It is entirely feasible that Rogal Dorn died in a Black Crusade that was not one of the 12 of Abaddons, but an as yet undisclosed one lead by a different [[Chaos Champion]].{{fn|4}} It should also be understood that even among Games Workshop itself, or at least the [[Black Library]] authors, putting down an exact date for Rogal Dorn's death has been under discussion even as far as 2014{{fn|44}} and may still yet be in planning, given the emergence of [[The Horus Heresy: The Scouring]].

The following details discuss and entertain the notion of, as well as any source conflicts that would arise, in associating the death of Rogal Dorn with one of [[Black Crusade#The Black Crusades of Abaddon the Despoiler|Abaddon's Black Crusades]], based upon given information, and any conflicts therein. *In [[Index Astartes II]] Rogal Dorn is stated to have died during a [[Black Crusade]] in which [[Cadia]] ''wasn't'' attacked{{fn|49}}. This would eliminate Black Crusades 1-4 which did involve attacks on Cadia. It would also eliminate Black Crusades 12 which did not go through the Cadian Gate, and Black Crusade 13 which did attack Cadia.
