The world was originally claimed by the [[Ultramarines]] during the [[Horus Heresy]], when a loyalist force led by [[Space Marine Captain|Captain]] [[Arceas Odinathus]] assaulted a [[Word Bearers]] garrison. After 3 weeks of fighting that saw the traitors unleash [[Warp]] and [[Age of Strife]]-era horrors, the blasted ruin of Honourum was captured.{{Fn|6}}
After the Heresy the world remained a [[Fortress World]] for the Ultramarines, but was eventually given to the new Novamarines Chapter led by [[Lucretius Corvo]].{{Fn|4}}
