Imperial vehicles are seldom destroyed outright in a single strike. Damaged tanks and other vehicles often litter the battlefield and have to be recovered before being finished off by the enemy, or worse, captured. Salvage and Recovery Regiments specialise in pulling these smoking hulks from the battlefield, often under enemy fire, allowing the [[Mechanicus]] [[Enginseer]]s to restore the vehicles to full combat functionality.
