Upon making planetfall, the Space Wolves successfully located a pack of the mutated warriors. However, the [[Dark Angels]], who were seeking buried relics on witnessing the beast-like forms of the Wulfen, demanded that the Space Wolves surrender the "mutants" over to them for immediate judgment.{{Fn|1a}} Before the standoff could escalate, a massive daemonic attack interrupted the standoff.
