History
Chimera APCs APCs and Leman RussMBTs MBTs were found unsuitable for the reconnaissance role that they were occasionally being forced into. The more powerful engine of the Leman Russ tank was fitted into a shorted Chimera chassis to give the Centaur its speed. From there the tracks of the Chimera were replaced with a four wheel drive system to give the Centaur enhanced manoeuvrability. The Centaur is capable of outrunning most vehicles in the Imperial arsenal. CME
What was needed was a combination of the versatility of the Chimera and the sheer firepower of the Leman Russ. Thus the Pegasus Armoured Scout Car was born. The powerful Leman Russ engine was fitted into a shortened Chimera chassis while a four-wheel drive system gave the stability and manoeuvrability required. The Pegasus was easily capable of outrunning most vehicles and has had many variants produced, including the Pegasus Command.1a

*Minotaur AFV
Trivia
*Both the Centaur AFV and the Minotaur AFV were designed by modeller Ewen Little, using parts from both then-available 2nd Edition Leman Russ and Chimera. A simple guide on how to convert was provided how to create the Pegasus in The Citadel Journal 16.2
*The vehicle's appearance is may be based on the Humber Armoured Car.
*From 2019 until 2026 the Centaur AFV was erroneously listed as the Pegasus, and the Minotaur AFV as the Pegasus Command Vehicle on Lexicanum. In 2022 the novel Krieg by Steve Lyons was released. It included a section in Chapter 14 that included a Pegasus Command Vehicle. The war-gear listed is similar to that of the Minotaur AFV.3 Whether these were meant to the same vehicle or not is unknown.
