In the lead up to the [[Invasion of Rynn's World]] Deguerro and several of the Chapter's other librarians of the chapter had visions about a struggle against great odds.{{Fn|3a}} He was among the [[3rd Company (Crimson Fists)|3rd ]] and [[2nd Company (Crimson Fists)|2nd company ]] forces sent to [[New Rynn City ]] to defend it.{{Fn|3b}} When the Crimson Fists' [[Fortress Monastery ]] was destroyed Deguerro and all the other Librarians in New Rynn City went down.{{Fn|3c}} Upon learning that most of their Chapter was dead , Deguerro went to the Cassar's reclusiam and sat in silence. When [[Captain (Space Marine)|Captain]] [[Drigo Alvez]] and [[Huron Grimm]] arrived he initially ignored them, continuing to sit in silence from the shock of what had happened. He eventually told them what he had and the other librarians had sensed, and how the [[Ork]] [[Weirdboyz]] had unintentionally saved him and the other librarians from death.{{Fn|3d}}

After the death of [[Drigo Captain Alvez]], Deguerro took command of the remaining Crimson Fists in New Rynn City. He put [[Sergeant (Space Marine)|Sergeant]] [[Barrien Gallacus|Gallacus]] in charge of all [[1st Company, Crimson Fists Chapter|Crusade Company]] forces, and [[Sergeant (Space Marine)|Sergeant]] [[Huron Grimm|Grimm]] in charge of all [[2nd Company, Crimson Fists Chapter|2nd]] and [[3rd Company, Crimson Fists Chapter|3rd]] company forces, with the librarians [[Terraro]] and [[Cordo]] acting as his Liasonsliaisons. After the meeting he held back [[Huron Grimm|Grimm]] to inform him that they had divined several strong presences heading to New Rynn City.{{3e}} He ordered him to hold an underpass for as long as possible, which ultimately allowed [[Pedro Kantor]] and other survivors to enter the city.{{Fn|3f}}
