Ammentar the Nekrosor is a surprisingly lucid Necron Destroyer Lord. He is They are believed by many to be the genesis of the Destroyer Curse; others, though, consider Ammentar to be a mythological parable of the Necrons' guilt and betrayal for the shattering of the C'tan.1
History
Ammentar's true origin seem to have been forcibly removed from the Necrons' collective memories.3a Why this has occurred is not known, but the only one with the authority to do so is Szarekh the Silent King. Regardless of its origin, Ammentar's mere presence is enough to corrupt the minds of Necrons with the Destroyer Curse and it commands vast hordes in a crusade to eradicate life from the galaxy. Some have even claimed that Ammentar was the very first of his race to fall to the Destroyer Curse.2 He They also has an extreme affinity to the C'tan known as the Nightbringer, and seeks to revive the Star God by reuniting the Nightbringer's scattered shards. However, this is widely disapproved of by the Necrons themselves.1 The exact reason for this quest remains unclear, though the Nekrosor seems to harbour an almost religious fascination with the C'tan.2
Ammentar's corruptive presence is subtle but powerful, with few realizing the corruption has taken hold until they are accepting Destroyer modifications. It affects Necrons of all levels, and is even rumoured to affect the Master Programs of a tomb complex. This makes him an object of legend and fear amongst all the Dynasties.3a While embodying the Destroyer Cult, Ammentar is far from mindless and is not held in thrall to his base destructive desires. He has They have gathered a large army of Destroyers dubbed the Nekrosor's Crusaders, and those Necrons that do not willingly join him them are captured and converted by his their captive Crypteks.2 Ammentar's followers are so numerous he they can not lead them all directly, so he they often delegates delegate to his their Oblivion Court.3a
Ammentar's crusade of eradication and quest to revive the Nightbringer has now led it to invade the Realm of Ultramar. However, the Destroyer Lord's hordes are now clashing with Captain Demetrian Titus' Ultramarines forces.1 Despite his mission being heretical to most Necrons, Szarekh and the Triarch are too busy with the War in the Pariah Nexus to currently give Ammentar much attention.3a
The Nekrosor title
His Their title of Nekrosor is of unknown origins, and it is said that it could only have been given by the Triarch themselves. With the meaning of the title lost, it has become confounded with his their name, and he is often being referred to simply as Nekrosor Ammentar.3a
Wargear and Abilities
Ammentar bears a variety of weapons on its body. He seems to be a chimeric hybrid of various subcults within the Destroyer order. His Their serpentine lower body echoes Ophydians, while his their Enmitic Weaponry echoes the Hexmark. Its bladed limbs bear the hallmarks of Skorpekhs.3a
Its primary armaments are the Unmaker Gauntlet, large enough to hold a Space Marine in its grasp, and a set of Enmitic Disintegrators. It also possesses large claws, and blades on its tail & tendrils.2 Thanks to extensive modifications, Ammentar is capable of easily tunnelling through both planetary surfaces and subdimensions, striking from the veil of reality itself to reach prey and exterminate them.3a
