A screenshot of a communication on LinkedIn with Alex Stewart, author of Ciaphas Cain as Sandy Mitchell. In it, he describes his inspiration for the Reclaimers. The message this is responding to goes as follows:

"Hello Mr. Stewart - I'm a contributor to the Warhammer 40k independent wiki (Lexicanum) and have a petty question: can I get you on record saying that the Reclaimers are a reference to the Wombles?"
Back in the day, when the first plastic Space Marine figures were released for 1st edition 40K/Rogue Trader, they were generally referred to by the gaming community as 'Womble Marines,' and I couldn't resist painting mine up that way. So when I needed an Astartes chapter for the Cain novels I just used my tabletop home brew one. Plus, I thought it would amuse anyone who spotted the reference from the description of their armour colours.
The other non-codex chapter Cain and Amberley mention occasionally, the Bone Knives, aren't really a reference to anything; the name just occurred to me in the moment of typing, sounded appropriately Space Marine-y for a Blood Angels successor chapter, and stuck. Though I do have the colour scheme I mentioned for them in mind for when I eventually get round to painting up the Primaris units from my pile of shame...
Hope that helps!
