A '''Company''' is the broadest organizational unit in a [[Space Marine]] [[Chapter]], as well as in an [[Imperial Guard]] [[regiment]]. Both types of company are led by a [[Captain]].

Each standard Astartes Chapter is broken down into ten companies providing structure to the chapter. Each of these companies should be one hundred men strong, making the one thousand strong chapter.

The tenth company, or Scout Company, consists entirely of [[Scout]]s and is often not one hundred strong as a steady supply of recruits is not possible. They are the most lightly armoured and usually used as a reconnaissance force. They are sometimes mounted on Bikes but do not use Rhino or Razorback transports.
