'''Possessed''' are literally as their name suggests, Chaos Space Marines who have been possessed by [[daemons]]. The difference between them and others who are possessed is that they allow it to happen willingly, making a pact with a daemon. Whether they are motivated through a deep devotion to Chaos or simply through an unquenchable thirst for power varies from person to person, however their self-will is not destroyed and the mortal most often remain in charge of the symbiotic relationship.¹ The soul of the mortal is sustained by the power of the warp.² However, when their there is blood and death in the air the daemon becomes more powerful and may come to dominate the pairing, as such taking over the shared body. This often leads to a much more barbaric and bestial fighting machine.¹ The possessed feel no pain and as such the daemon has free reign to mutate the body to suit their own purposes or whims.²
